2020: A Year We'll Never Forget!

Updated: Nov 24, 2020

Every end of the year, we are all excited and hopeful for the new year to come. Even though the year does not end yet, we are already had plans, goals, and achievements that we want to pursue or succeed in next year. And some of us are already planning to get married and while the others, they already bought tickets to their long-awaited vacation. Well, we are like this. We just want to have clear plans and goals that we want to do next year. And we never know what 2020 will be. And it never failed to surprise us.

The Year We Won't Forget

The year 2020 is the first year of this new decade. And this is an unexpected year indeed. A lot of unforgettable events and tragedies happened all this year. In early January, the whole world was in shock about the news of a newly found virus that came from China. In just a week, the whole of Wuhan, China is under lockdown. But the virus can't be contained even after all those lockdowns and restrictions. Just a month after the virus broke out it spreads around the globe. Many nations ordered lockdowns to their boundaries. No more flights, a lot of people stranded. And that's all the story started, as many people lose their jobs, many businesses bankrupt. The rich can't use their money for their comfort yet the saddest the poor became poorer. A lot of people lost their hopes and some of us end their lives. This is just so sad. The same month also, we are all stun by the news on the early passing of the basketball legendary Kobe Bryant. We are all sad with this news knowing that it was a crash that kills him and also his beloved daughter Gianna. Together with them are their colleagues and friends. It was a big loss to the NBA and their families. And to all of us who's looking for Kobe Bryant as their inspiration to basketball. After a few months, in August, the American actor Chadwick Boseman died of cancer. No one expects it as he only finished his movie "The Black Panther". It was a great loss to Hollywood movies and to those people who love him. We will miss Chadwick as no one else can say "Wakanda Forever", better than Chadwick. And now just a week and days ago, we are all affected by 2 Super Typhoons Rolly and Ulysses. It takes a lot of human lives, it vanished homes and livestock, a lot of places are still in floods. It drifts everyone's hopes.

Hope during this year of stress

After all of what is happening, we can say that nothing is permanent in this world. Money, material things, being famous or respected. All of this will pass. So how can we find real happiness during this year of distress? The answer is in you. Why we will invest in the things that we know won't last forever and only gives temporary happiness? Instead, focus on how to be happy and contented. Make more time with your family because they are the only one who is there for you whenever you need a helping hand. They are the source of your strength and happiness. Don't let that this will take your family from you while your busy making more money for the future of your family. What is the use of your money if you lost your family? If you have no more time for your wife or husband, to your sons and daughters? Don't let them drift away from you because they are your happiness and also your hope. And most of all don't forget to strengthen your relationship with our God Jehovah. He is the one who provides us everything that we need. The one who blesses us in our everyday work. It's really good to have Jehovah and our family in our lives. Now that's what gives us hope.
